About Our Home
We are situated on 10 acres in subtropical Northland of beautiful New Zealand. We are on a coastal, beach front property out in the country, surrounded by farms and bush, a completely safe place for our kittens to grow up in!
About Me
My name is Michelle Amie Thackwray, although everyone just calls me 'Micki' I was born on the 20th of February 1992 and have been breeding Ragdolls since I was 14 years old. I was born in New Zealand and have lived in the same place my whole life! Although I have lived in Fiji several times during my childhood.
=^..^=
I have always had a strong love and passion for animals - growing up surrounded by them. I got my first cat, a male grey tabby, called 'Tiffany', when I was just four years old - the first of many other pets! I bred and sold mice when I was about 6, moving onto Seal Point Californian Rabbits, when i was about 9. I was always hand rearing small animals, baby birds, rabbits, possums.. even a ferret! I hand reared my first new-born kitten when I was 12.
I really love breeding Ragdolls - even though it can be extremely hard work and stressful, it is always worth it when you place the most beautiful, perfect kittens into homes which you have hand picked and know that the kittens are going to live the best lives possible and that the family's are going to love their kitten so much. I am so proud of my kittens and love them all so much. My favorite thing is when the new families tell me how perfect their scrumptious kittens are when they go to their new homes - makes everything worth it!! :)
=^..^=
Breeding Ragdolls is my passion, my hobbie - something I just really really love to do. I also love to do anything that involves animals, like running and playing with my dogs, riding my horses and as I live on the beach, anything to do with water!!
I work for See and Do New Zealand, New Zealand's leading tourism video company, and for Promotional Videos, a company who produces web videos. I do videography, photography, editing, design (both web and print), directing and modeling. Unless I am out filming, I can work from home, on my computer - so am pretty much always home with my kittens!!
About My Family
We are a family of girls! My mum, Andrea Lilly (Andy), and her four daughters, Myself, Bridget Sarah, Penelope Kate (Penny) and Holly Emma :) We are all a very animal loving family... you would have to be if you lived with us! We all love the out-doors and basically just having lots of fun!
_Andy is very hard working and after retiring from being a dive instructor, she now manages both See and Do New Zealand, New Zealand's leading tourism video company, and for Promotional Videos, a company producing web videos.
She is a great mum and is my best friend :)
Bridget was born 1993, she is my closest sister in age and we share everything together... although she is a lot less into animals than me!!
Penny was born 2002, she is a 'little me' - totally in love with all animals - we always have heaps of fun riding our horses together :) ...she is a cheeky wee monkey!
Holly is my little baby sister, born 2004 - she is the sweetest, cutest little girl and is always ready to model my kittens for me in photos!
David, my partner, also lives with us during all the holidays when he is not studying at Uni down in Dunedin. David is exactly the same age as me and is my best friend. We have been together since we were just 15 and I have known him for pretty much ever!! :)
